Themed Weddings

Ahoy matey! If you grew up you enjoy old pirate movies like Captain Blood or Black Swan, a swashbuckling Tyrone Power exhibited? I know I did and still does to this day, so I decided to come up with some great wedding tips for a pirate themed wedding.


A pirate wedding can be fun and can right to take some unique ideas from your imagination. The first thing is to decide where you want your wedding to keep pirate. A sandy beach, or an elegant house converted into a pirate hideout appear? Perhaps you might be interested a Hollywood producer to contact an old pirate ship using a film set. You make the decision after all these days is the one you've dreamed your whole life. Light! Camera! Action!

Once you have decided on a unique location for your wedding, it's time to all the little details that make a marriage to make to the life. Let's start with some obvious, such as wedding gowns.

When you decided to become a pirate bride to be, it is up to you to dress the part. You can first look at the dresses of the pirate as the starting time. Well heeled brides had dresses that often extended a corset or lacing pattern and was of silk or damask with puffy sleeves trimmed with lace on the sleeves and bodice. You can go back and take a look at the beautiful dress Princess Diana wore at her wedding with a good idea to get this particular style. The color is entirely up to you. Dressing the groom can have fun with the pirate theme. Pirates dressed in bright colors like crimson red or Royal Purple pants and muslin shirts enhanced by puffy sleeves and cuffs dripping with lace. Then go to a black belt adorned with a large gold buckle and black knee high boots for effect. Follow this flamboyant style with a black tricorn hat decorated with an exciting red or purple tongue and the groom wearing a gold hoop earrings and gold chains. Last but not least, you can add black eye patch for a fantastic finish. Let your groomsmen dress as pirates in less sombre clothes, because the groom star.

If you really want pirate style, sending invitations, composed to look like ransom notes or treasure chests card invites your guests to show at your wedding. You can also ask them to dress in the old world dress as they wish.


Now we need you and your groom dressed and sent out invitations, it's time to decorate your wedding. Put your tables in scarlet cloth and give your guests wine bottle stoppers or letter openers packaged in miniature treasure chests. Finally, let the party begin! Offer your guests pewter plates and cups and let them choose from a selection of foods lobster, coconut shrimp, fresh salads, tropical fruits, fried chicken and bread washed down with a selection of champagne, liqueur, whiskey and soda.

After the celebration, you can start your honeymoon in the captain's cabin, complete with port hole so you can look at the stars ..
